The Network Administrators role is to ensure the stable operation of the in-house computer network. This includes planning, developing, installing, configuring, maintaining, supporting, and optimizing all network hardware, software, and communication links. The person will also analyze and resolve end user hardware and software computer problems in a timely and accurate fashion, and provide end user training where required.
Primary Responsibilities:
Install and maintain current network infrastructure including servers and network peripherals
Research and test new technologies that can improve overall business and IT processes
Secure all servers and network peripherals to comply with all Charter standards at a minimum
Backup all critical data and properly plan its recovery in disaster recovery situations
Diagnose and fix all server issues
Perform level 2 desktop support
Support Help Desk Activities
Other duties as assigned by management.
Excellent long-term contractual opportunity in West Columbia for a Programmer with ASP Classic, SQL, and C# or VB.NET
Responsibilities include working directly with three programmers and management team to find areas that programs can be improved, or built from the ground up. The goal is to improve company process efficiency; documenting programs that are created or changed. This person will work on multiple projects, and therefore, report to multiple managers.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a degree and limited experience.
Hours are either 7-3:30 or 8-4:30 Monday-Friday.
Hourly pay rate is $15-20/hr, based on level of experience.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Must have at least one year of related experience in a business environment working with ASP Classic, SQL and C# or VB.NET. Experience in ASP.net and VB 6 is a big plus.
Ability to communicate not only with management level, but also be able to clearly explain changes to staff level employees with limited computer knowledge.
College degree in programming or a related field is preferred, but not required.
Position Qualifications:
3-5 years experience installing and servicing Cat 5, 5e, 6 and fiber optics, knowledge of TIA/EIA standards, building codes; 3-7 years of professional experience
Minimum 3 years performing equipment troubleshooting, repair and preventative maintenance for structured cabling systems.
Capable of working effectively with co-workers and fulfill customer requests
Past Intel jobsite experience in structured cable systems a plus
BICSI experience a plus; BICSI level 1 Certification or greater preferred.
Knowledge or certification equivalent to RCDD/NTS
Ability to operate a computer; perform data entry, intermediate- advance MS Office Suite skills
Ability to climb ladders and lift heavy equipment.
Knowledge of the equipment and tools used in structured cabling.
Knowledge of basic proposal processes and technical write ups.
Serve as a lead administrator for setup, configuration and deployment of all Microsoft Servers.
a. Responsible for supporting all servers, systems, and applications for SCIES (SAP) infrastructure
b. Act as technical liaison between the Infrastructure team and Basis team
c. Customer site visits may be required (a valid SCDL will be required)
d. Assist other technicians with daily configuration and monitoring of all servers, and configuring resolutions for customer problems and must be able to mentor junior staff
A Bachelors degree in Computer Science or Information Systems and 5 years experience in the support of Intel based enterprise Microsoft servers.
Strong oral and written communications skills to ensure customer understanding of requirements before sign-off.
Strong oral skills and ability to speak in a clear and concise manner.
Ability to maintain good working relationships with staff, users, management, vendors and other officials.
Strong interpersonal skills
Intermediate level of understanding of change management principles and processes
Ability to effectively negotiate and facilitate problem resolution
Ability to provide technical information to non-technical customers
Must be self-motivated, able to work independently, and as a member of a team
