DBA requirements
DB2 V7 or higher experience as a DBA 2 or more years using the IBM DB2 utility suite in monitoring and changing related DB2 user and system tables as needed
Should be able to install new PTFs and fixes as required using
SMPE requires SMPE in order to order and install DB2 fixes when needed and
debug problems when they arise
DB2 Connect experience
Able to install DB2 Connect software when required, used to transfer
databases from one subsystem to another Able to code JCL in a Z/OS environment
required to fix production abends, etc. Storage management (SMS) experience
will be implementing System Managed Storage(SMS) with next upgrade and
need someone with that experience WLM experience Will be implementing Work Load Manager(WLM) to assist in monitoring system wide resources on the mainframe
Additional requirements as a systems programmer
• HCD experience required to change the operating system configuration when needed
• Z/OS 1.7 or greater install experience, will be upgrading the
operating system to a supported level
• Experience with installing/maintaining vendor products
County has 3rd party products on the system and we have requirements to
keep them updated
• REXX/C list experience needed to do the automated tasks in operations
• AS/400 experience(operations and maintenance)
Experience in maintaining and debugging problems on an AS/400 systems
County has 3rd party installed for Probate Court and the Sheriffs RMS
system. Minimum experience of 2 to 3 years on above is required.
Certifications on skills to support above will be an added advantage.
Also, person should have good communication, team skills and experience
in working with US customers.
Positive attitude of the person and commitment to the job is the key.
Person will have to work in shifts and after office hours when required.
