There is a clinical research study now enrolling women who are currently pregnant and have had a prior preterm delivery.

You may qualify for this research study if you:
• Have had a previous single-baby preterm delivery
• Are currently pregnant and expecting one baby
• Are less than 20 weeks pregnant
• Are at least 18 years old

The purpose of this research study is to determine if weekly injections of an investigational study drug reduce the rate of early delivery. This research will also determine if the study drug improves the health of the newborn baby

The study drug will be compared to placebo, which is an injection that is like the study drug, but does not contain active study medication. Depending upon how long you have been pregnant when you enter this research study, participation may last for approximately 20 weeks.

There will be approximately 1700 women enrolled in the United States, Canada and several other countries. Your participation could contribute to reducing the number of preterm births.

If you are enthusiastic about sharing your passion of wildlife with others, then joining the Riverbanks Zoo Education Volunteer team may be right for you.

What will I do?: Education Volunteers are trained to interpret exhibits and animal feeding/trainings sessions, handle education animals and help with special education events. Volunteers are expected to attend a 25 hour training course and continuing education classes scheduled throughout the year.

How do I know volunteering is for me? Education Volunteers must be dedicated, friendly and ready to learn. Volunteers commit to at least 10 hours per month after training. A TB test and back ground check will be completed prior to training. Must be 18 years old or older.

How do I sign up?: Training for new Education Volunteers will begin the Tuesday January 12 and last through Tuesday March 23rd. Training sessions will be held Tuesday nights from 5:30pm – 7:30pm and one Sunday afternoon for those 11 weeks.
