Dietzgen Architect Drafting Table with Adjustable Cast Iron Base 1 thumbnailDietzgen Architect Drafting Table with Adjustable Cast Iron Base 2 thumbnailDietzgen Architect Drafting Table with Adjustable Cast Iron Base 3 thumbnail
make / manufacturer: Dietzgen
Late 19th Century drafting table with cast iron base and original wood top.
Still in working condition, the wheel and gear mechanism is used to raise and lower the table.
The knobs are used lock in place any adjustments you make to the height or angle of the tabletop.
The base is marked Dietzgen. Made in U.S.A.

The original wood top is 1" thick, 43" wide x 31.25" deep

At its lowest position in a flat position, the wood surface is 35.5" high. It can be raised up to 50" inches high.
Note that the latch that is supposed to catch the ratchet is broken.
The table still raises and lowers and is held in place with the handle tension.
The latch just adds a layer of protection to prevent the top from going down, should no tension be applied to the handle.
Thus, extra care needs to be taken when raising or lowering the tabletop.

The top can be angled to full vertical 90 degrees (for ease of storage) or horizontal as shown or any angle in between.
