I bought this used, and sanded the whole thing with both coarse and fine sandpaper. I stained it a dark walnut cover and used 2-3 coats of clear finish. It's originally Broyhill brand. It's sturdy, good quality wood, and can even hold a person if you were wondering (I tested it before I refinished it). I will say it's pretty short to be used as an end table, but it's great as just a small side table or short drawer.
